My grandfather passed away today.
Last night all he wanted to do was to have one last beer with his sons. pic.twitter.com/6FnCGtG9zW

Adam’s grandfather, Norman Schemm was 87 and hailed from Appleton, Wisconsin. In his final moments, he had one wish – to have his loved ones beside him while he sipped some beer.
And his sons ensured they fulfilled his wish. The family laughed, talked, and reminisced the good, old moments with some beers in the hospital. This is when Norman’s son Tom shared this adorable picture on their Whatsapp family group.
Unfortunately, a few hours later, Norman passed away. His grandson, Adam then posted this picture on Twitter.
And the entire family was overwhelmed with the response of netizens on the picture. Clearly, the picture touched a chord with a lot of others.
The picture has gone viral and has been shared over 30,000 times and liked over 330,000 times!
What is heartening to see is that many others shared photos of their last moments with their loved ones. And it sure brought a smile to our face and a tear in our eyes.
I don’t know you… but I felt this. Days before my grandpa passed he let my dad and I know he wanted a cigar and a beer. We made it happen. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your grandpas smile is one for the books! pic.twitter.com/HDv3y2kLeA

According to BBC, Adam said, “My grandpa had been relatively healthy over the course of his life but it was on the Sunday last week while he was in hospital that they realised it would be the end. He called his grandchildren to tell us on the Monday. We took the picture Tuesday night and then he died from stage four colon cancer on Wednesday.”
“My dad told us that grandpa had wanted a beer and now when I look at that picture it gives me solace.
“I can tell my grandpa is smiling. He’s doing what he wanted to do – it was an impromptu moment.”
Initially, Adam was reluctant to post the picture on social media because of its sensitive content. However, he decided to do so because it was a beautiful moment.
“It’s actually helped us with our grief. It’s comforting to see that my grandparents and their children were all together in his final moments,” he said.
And we certainly agree. Isn’t this just awesome? To see people unite in their grief? What do you think? Do let us know your views on this picture in the comments section below.
