Internationally renowned DJ David Guetta is gearing up to make all of you dance this weekend!
To raise money for the coronavirus pandemic relief efforts, the Grammy-winning French DJ is all set to host the second of his ‘United At Home’ concert on the evening of 30th May, Saturday, from an undisclosed, iconic location in New York.
The event will be streamed online on all of the social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, of the DJ.
“Since the beginning of [the pandemic] I was looking for an idea on how to give back,” Guetta told CNN. “I didn’t want to do something in my bedroom … I wanted to have people in front of me. I’m going to give people the possibility to interact with me on Zoom. I’m going to have multiple screens because I like the idea of playing for people that I can see.”
The proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, the World Health Organization and a top French foundation supporting hospitals.
“A lot of artists, especially DJs, were doing performances from their bedrooms. I felt like that was a little bit frustrating. I really wanted to feel like I have a crowd,” Guetta said in an interview with The Associated Press. “So, I had the idea of doing this in the middle of towers, and people were on the balconies and that was absolutely amazing.”
The first of the ‘United At Home’ rooftop concert, which was held last month at the Icon Brickell in downtown Miami, raised more than a whopping $750,000 for relief efforts towards COVID-19. It was donated to organizations such as Feeding South Florida, Feeding America, World Health Organization and Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris. The concert was unique: it witnessed around 8,000 residents watching Guetta play from their balconies, and millions others joining him online.
We’d definitely be tuning in to watch this iconic DJ play! How about you?
