UK woman creates stunning artwork on horses

Melody Hames is trending on social media these days. Her moniker ‘Horse Barber’ has gone viral. She is a graduate in graphic design, and her canvas is horses!

Hames is the UK’s first horse clipping educator. Fond of both art and horses, she turned her passion into creating beautiful designs on the horses. Hence, the name ‘Horse Barber’.

She started young, at the age of 9. And her first client was her Connemara pony that suffered from Cushing’s disease. Self-taught, Hames had to clip her pony regularly as the disease caused it to have a thick coat which wouldn’t change during the warmer climes.

What started out as necessity soon grew into a passion. And now, she has become much sought after because of her amazing skills with the trimmer. She does both traditional and creative clipping. Needless to say, it’s her creativity which has made her famous.

Her unique designs and her approach to the entire process is what sets her apart. And people have to book days and even months in advance for her services. The fact that she loves horses and knows how to handle them comes in handy when dealing with a nervous animal.

The time frame for the whole creative clipping process depends on the design. The bigger the size the more time it takes. And the horse barber ensures that the animal is not inconvenienced at any point during the process.
