Stray dogs find some winter warmth in Ikea store

Although Ikea has not publicised this act of philanthropy, praise has poured in from the customers, who have posted photos and videos on social media.

An Ikea store in Italy has got some new fixtures and they are warm and furry. The Swedish furniture giant’s store in Catania, Sicily, has opened its doors to stray dogs for the winter season. The pooches can come in anytime unannounced and lounge around the store on any of the warm rugs that the store staff lays out for them.

Although Ikea has not publicized this act of philanthropy, praise has poured in from the customers, who have posted photos and videos on social media. And as expected, they have gone viral. Apart from providing shelter from the cold, the brand also runs a campaign ‘Home for Hope,’ which is aimed at rehabilitating these strays and encouraging adoption.
