Headspace is one of the most popular and loved meditation apps around.

It was in the news recently for offering its services free to the frontline responders of the COVID-19 pandemic. And now, it has gone one step ahead to help the entire community maintain their mental health.

Headspace has recently announced that it is now providing a one-year free subscription to all unemployed and furloughed people in the United States.

In the Headspace Plus subscription is included an access to the entire Headspace library that includes a wide range of guided meditations, mini-meditations that can be done at any time, a collection of relaxing music, sounds, and sleepcasts to help sleep better, and animations to guide through essential meditation techniques, among other things.

#Headspace was founded to improve the health and happiness of the world — for whoever needs help, but especially those who need help most. So, from today we’re offering every unemployed person in America free access to Headspace Plus, for a year. pic.twitter.com/HXh8JKrImp

All one has to do is fill in an online form and provide information on one’s most recent employer, role, industry, and last date of employment.

The offer is valid through 30th June 2020.

Rich Pierson, Headspace CEO and Co-Founder said in a statement, “While meditation and mindfulness can’t change our circumstances in life, it can help us change our perspective on those circumstances. And, now more than ever, that’s an incredibly powerful skill to learn. As a company dedicated to improving the health and happiness of the world, we take our responsibility to help support people’s mental health very seriously. It’s our promise today and for whatever tomorrow brings.”

Unfortunately, the unemployment numbers in the United States have touched over 36 million, the highest number since the Great Depression. In such tough situations, meditation and mindfulness can help one feel less stressed and more resilient.

Isn’t this a fantastic service being provided by Headspace? What do you think?
