Angelica Ross makes Broadway history 

On Monday, Sept. 12, the 41-year-old "Pose" actress will begin performing in the renowned production of "Chicago" as Roxie Hart.

This is the first time in history that an openly transgender woman has led the iconic show- Chicago.

ross's character is a fame-seeking vixen who kills her partner and joins the list of Cook County Jail's "Merry Murderesses."

The production features choreography that is influenced by Bob Fosse, killer outfits, and powerful songs like "Cell Block Tango" and "All That Jazz."

"Chicago," set in the 1920s, is a biting satire on how the entertainment industry and the media turns criminals into celebrities.

The iconic production of "Chicago" has been running on Broadway for more than two decades.

Since "Chicago" debuted in 1996, dozens of actresses have portrayed the show's fame-hungry protagonist, including Melanie Griffith, Christie Brinkley, and Marilu Henner.

Although Ross' reign in "Chicago" as the leading lady will end on Nov. 6, 2022, she has other Broadway projects on her mind for the near future.
