Mattel, the company behind the famous Barbie dolls, recently launched its range of gender-inclusive called ‘Creatable World.’ And this is for kids who refuse to conform to the conventions of gender.

These wonderful gender-inclusive dolls let the children create the gender expression of the toys. So, the six dolls released by Mattel come with different skin tones, hair, and clothes and can be accessorised to either a boy, girl, neither or both.

Every doll comes with skirts, pants, shirts, long and short-hair wigs, and shoes. The dolls are priced at $29.99.

According to the New York Times, Mattel has worked with multiple experts in gender identity to research these kinds of dolls.

“Toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels,” said Kim Culmone, the Senior Vice President of Mattel Fashion Doll Design, in a statement.

“Through research, we heard that kids don’t want their toys dictated by gender norms,” Culmone said.

“This line allows all kids to express themselves freely.”

Mattel has long been criticized for not being inclusive and diverse in its range of products. It has, in the last few years, tried to address these issues. Earlier this year, it released a range of inclusive Barbies such as Barbies on a wheelchair and prosthetics. It has also introduced Barbies with varied skin tones and sizes.

What do you think about these inclusive dolls? Do let us know your views in the comments section below.
