Bill Gates gives a special gift to friend Warren Buffett on his 90th birthday

Warren Buffett, the iconic entrepreneur and philanthropist, turned 90 on 30th August. And one of his closest friends, Bill Gates gave him an adorable present on the special occasion.

Gates, who has known Buffett for close to three decades now, baked a delicious Oreo cake. The icing on the cake, quite literally, was that the cake was adorned with Buffett’s face on the top, drawn in chocolate icing. The minute-long video also has Randy Newman’s “You Got a Friend” playing in the background and Gates, with an apron, doing a fantastic Martha Stewart impression.

Towards the end of the video, Gates cuts a slice of the cake, puts in on a plate. Then, he writes the message “Happy 90th birthday Warren” in Oreo dust.

According to Gates, the video is in honour of Buffett’s “dietary preferences.”

Gates also wrote a blog post for his beloved friend, paying a tribute to Buffett’s life. The Microsoft founder turned philanthropist starts off the blog by writing, “Warren Buffett turns 90 years old today. It’s hard to believe that my close friend is entering his tenth decade. Warren has the mental sharpness of a 30-year-old, the mischievous laugh of a 10-year-old, and the diet of a 6-year-old.”

He also writes that the most important lesson that he has learned from Buffett is what friendship is all about. “As Warren himself put it a few years ago when we spoke with some college students, “You will move in the direction of the people that you associate with. So it’s important to associate with people that are better than yourself.”

He ends the blog by describing his feeling for the legendary entrepreneur known to have a strong sense of ethics. “A person that I admire as well as like—that’s the perfect description of how I feel about Warren. Happy birthday, my friend.”
