Did you notice the date today? Today, the 2nd of February, 2020 is an extremely unique and special day! And why?
The date today is 02-02-2020, a palindrome, which means that it is the same when read forwards and backwards. The palindrome is extremely special because it holds true in all the international date formats (USA/UK/ISO) or the DD/MM/YYYY and the MM/DD/YYYY formats.
Today is the also the only such instance in the entire century when such a date occurs.
The previous palindrome came over 900 years ago on 11/11/1111. And the next would come almost a century later on 12/12/2121. The one after will be only in 3030 on 03/03/3030.
And this date caused a huge stir on social media, with many netizens observing this date and bringing in more facts and trivia.
The Solihull School Maths Department called this a “unique day.”
Today is a Palindrome Day in all date formats (UK, USA, ISO). It’s also a palindrome day of the year (33) and there are a palindrome number of days left in the year (333). Quite a unique day! #PalindromeDay #SolSchMaths pic.twitter.com/uKikl1iTXf

It’s #PalindromeDay! “Palindrome” was the first big word I learned because my name is a palindrome, and you’d better believe I said it as much as was humanly possible
