What will you do if you encounter a hawk lying midway on a busy highway? Most of us will be too scared to do anything—because hawks are scary to say the least. But then sometimes you have to overcome your fears and do what is right. And that’s what an Uber driver did recently when he saw an injured hawk lying at the side of a major highway in the US.

For 58-year-old Kasim Eldilemi it was just another regular day at work driving his passengers around, when he spotted the injured bird on the FDR Drive in New York. He rescued the bird from the road and took it with him. After dropping his passenger first, he handed over the injured bird to a police officer who took it to the Wild Bird Fund of New York City. All this while driving with one hand with the bird perched on his other arm! Now isn’t this a great heart-warming story of compassion and kindness.

Scene: FDR Drive.
Characters: Injured hawk on side of road, taxi driver, cops.
Driver dares to stop and scoop up the enormous bird, then holds it with one hand while driving with the other. In Brooklyn, he flags down NYPD. Hawk handover ensues. Hawk arrives at WBF in patrol car! pic.twitter.com/dWDbBZqsfN
