Scientists use glowing chemical to assist brain cancer surgery

Scientists will now be able to differentiate between cancer cells and healthy brain tissue. A chemical 5-ALA ends up in fast-growing cancer cells, turning them pink because they don’t release an enzyme required to break it down. Using the colour as a differentiator, scientists will be able to remove cancerous cells easily.
