Fortune Magazine recently released its list of America’s largest 500 companies for 2022 recently, famously called the Fortune 500 companies.
This is the 68th edition of the list and despite rising inflation, supply chain crisis, and second year of pandemic, the companies on the list had a revenue of $16.1 trillion, and $1.8 trillion in profits.
While there were some minor changes in rankings, the same 10 companies from 2021 were in the top 10 this year too.
In terms of ranking for this year, retail giant Walmart topped the list for the 10th consecutive year. E-commerce behemoth Amazon remained at the second place this year, other than a bit of reshuffling the top 10 companies remain same as the previous year.
Multinational conglomerate Apple headed by Tim Cook was the Most Profitable Company on the list. It was followed by Microsoft ,Berkshire, Alphabet, and Meta Platforms.
There were quite a few first timers on the list, which included Electronic Arts at number 485, Yum Brands at 478.
