Heartwarming photo of cop father saluting Superintendent daughter goes viral!

It is often said that nothing makes parents more proud and happy than seeing their children succeed.

Such an incident was recently witnessed in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, where a State Police Duty Meeting called ‘Ignite’ is being held from 4th January to 7th January.

Circle Inspector Y Shyam Sundar was seen saluting his daughter, Yendluru Jessy Prasanthi, who is currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. In terms of hierarchy, a Deputy Superintendent of Police is one level higher than an Inspector.

This was the first time that the father and daughter duo met when on duty. And the daughter was clearly uncomfortable with her father’s gesture. After all, a daughter always remains a little daughter to her father!

“This is the first time that we met on duty. I wasn’t very comfortable with him saluting me, after all he’s my father. I asked him not to salute me, but it happened. I also returned the salute,” she said.

“My father is my major inspiration. I’ve grown up seeing him serving the people relentlessly. He has helped many people in whatever way he could. That’s what made me choose this department. I have a very positive outlook towards the department,” the DSP shared.

The photo was shared on Twitter by the official handle of the Andhra Pradesh Police, and has gone viral ever since. It has been liked and shared thousands of times on social media.
