The White House is likely to offer the World Bank President’s position to India-born former PepsiCo Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Indra Nooyi. Nooyi resigned as PepsiCo’s chief in August 2018 after serving the post for 12 years.
Nooyi has had an illustrious career. She secured the number 13 position on the Forbes list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2014. Further, she was ranked the second most powerful woman on the Fortune list in 2015.

According to the New York Times, “She has been courted as an administration ally by Ivanka Trump, the President’s eldest daughter who is playing a role in the selection of a nominee.”
However, Ivanka Trump’s association with the process has drawn ire from ethics watchdogs. According to an NYT report, her involvement in International Economic matters is immoral when she is not completely relieved from her assets.
World Bank’s current president Jim Yong Kim has announced to relinquish the post in February this year.
