The shortlist for the 2019 Booker Prize is out. It was announced at the British Library in London in a press conference on 3rd September 2019.

Others to have made it to the shortlist are Lucy Ellmann, the only American in the list. Joining her is the Nigerian author Chigozie Obioma, who has made it to the shortlist for a second time, British-Turkish author Elif Shafak and British author Bernardine Evaristo.

Here is the year’s shortlist:

  • Margaret Atwood (Canada) – The Testaments (Vintage, Chatto & Windus)

  • Salman Rushdie (UK/India) – Quichotte (Jonathan Cape)
