Tesla, the American electric vehicle manufacturer based out of Palo Alto, California, has set a fantastic record recently. It has made 1 million electric cars, becoming the first electric vehicle manufacturer to do so.

Founded in 2003, Tesla released its first car – the Tesla Roadster – only in 2008. Since then, it has come up with a range of electric vehicles that include Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.

Elon Musk, the maverick CEO and co-founder of Tesla, congratulated his team on achieving this feat with a tweet.

The automaker has consolidated its position as the largest American seller of electric vehicles. Despite struggling with its sales and deliveries initially, Tesla’s stock has grown leaps and bounds in the last few months. It posted its first annual profit in 2019 and its stock value has more than doubled in the past six months.

With its new factory recently opened in Shanghai and another to open in Berlin soon, Tesla looks poised to reach greater heights.
