Cognizant, one of the leading IT solutions providers in the world has appointed Brian Humphries as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His appointment will be effective from 1st April 2019. Humphries is currently the CEO of Vodafone Business and will replace the current CEO of Cognizant, Francisco D’Souza.
D’Souza, who has served as the CEO since 2007, will serve as full-time Executive Chairman till June to facilitate the transition. Post this, he will serve on the Board as the Vice-Chairman. D’Souza’s reign as the Chief has been nothing short of exemplary. He propelled the organization to great heights and its overall market value has increased by more than 400x times since its IPO a decade earlier in 1998. Further, the headcount of Cognizant has increased by more than seven times from 39,000 in 2006 to 282,000 in 2018.
Humphries himself has had an illustrious career and has been associated with brands such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Compaq.
