Brett Kavanaugh has been sworn in as US Supreme Court justice after Senate confirmed his nomination. Senate has confirmed his nomination narrowly with two votes. In 100 member Senate, 50 voted for Yes, 48 voted for No. One member, Republican Steve Daines, was absent due to the wedding ceremony in his family.

His confirmation boost Mr Trump ahead of key mid-term elections in November. On Mr Kavanaugh candidature for US Supreme court, the country was witnessed a clear division between people.

Three weeks ago professor Christine Blasey Ford publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in the 1980s. This allegation fueled a bitter battle between Republicans and Democrats on Mr Kavanaugh nomination.

On day one, Democrats opposed the nomination of Mr Kavanaugh. After Neil Gorsuch, Mr Kavanaugh confirmation for US Supreme court strengthened the conservative-leaning. All eyes will now be on November’s mid-term elections.
