Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos belong to an exclusive club of people that are worth over $100 billion.

However, this elite club found its third member recently.

The richest man in Europe, Bernard Arnault has made it to this club with his fortunes increasing by a whopping $32 billion this year. It is reported that his wealth is more than 3 per cent of the economy of France!

Who is Bernard Arnault?

Bernard Arnault is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the French luxury goods conglomerate, LVHM, which is a consortium of more than 70 brands. Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Bvlgari, TAG Heuer, Sephora, Fendi, Givenchy, and Zenith are a few of the brands that LVHM manages.

He is also an investor and a prolific art collector and is the man behind the Foundation Louis Vuitton Museum in Paris. He has invested in Netflix, the famous media services provider. Also, his art collection is known to be an enviable one that includes works of Picasso, Henry Moore, and Andy Warhol.

Further, he entered the yacht business recently and bought the Princess Yachts for an amount of over 250 million euros.

He also pledged an amount of 200 billion euros for the reconstruction of the iconic Notre Dame cathedral that saw a devastating fire ruin it.

For his achievements, he has been awarded the Commandeur of the Legion d’Honneur and the Grand Officer of the Legion d’Honneur – the highest civilian honour in France.
