The fact that this location can only be reached on foot—even the mail is brought by mule—makes it unique. You have to hike 8 miles down to get there. But when you get there, take a cool soak in Havasu Creek’s waterfalls and travertine pools.

5. Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
