CNN Travel put out its list of 20 Best Places to Travel to in this new year and there are some wonderful places on this list. From Chile in the West to Sri Lanka in South Asia, these exotic places definitely are worth travelling to.

Read on to know a few of the 20 places that made it to the list.

  1. Chile’s Lake District
    The Chilean Lake District, located in Southern Chile, is largely shrouded in mountains and is home to dense forests, snowcapped volcanoes, and verdant farmland, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation.

  2. Copenhagen, Denmark
    The capital of Denmark, Copenhagen is a classic blend of the traditional and the modern. While it is home to several Renaissance-era attractions, it has also seen a tremendous amount of urban development since the turn of the 21st century.
  3. Jamaica
    This Carribean island nation is a heaven for tourists. Its reef-lined beaches, rainforests, breathtaking landscapes, and unique culture provide visitors with varied and rich experiences.

    This is definitely one of those off-beat holiday locations. However, the rich culture coupled with the stunning scenery will make your travel experience in this nation a truly memorable and authentic one.
  5. Kyushu, Japan
    Kyushu, the third-largest island in Japan, is known for its active volcanoes, beaches, and natural hot springs. But, the local cuisine is also worth a try!
