Today is the day of the unsung hero in parenting – the Father

Being a parent is undeniably one of the most challenging things that adults have to do. And when it comes to parenting, most of the credit for bringing up children is given to the mothers. They give birth to us, take care of all our needs, get us everything we want and are always up for little sacrifices. However, the hero behind-the-scenes in the upbringing is most often ignored. I think it’s safe to say that Dads are superheroes.

Dads put in equal efforts in keeping us happy but are often shaded by mother’s love. They struggle all the best years of their life to make us into persons that we can one day be proud of. So this Father’s Day, it is time to give them what they’ve been giving all our life. Love.

Here are all the Amazing Things that you can do on Father’s Day to Make Your Dad Feel Good.

Ask Him If He’s Doing Good

As we grow up and get busy with our lives, there is barely any time that we spend with our parents. We are so busy growing up that we do not ask them how they are doing. We almost forget that they are growing up too. So, this Father‘s Day, go to your dad and ask him how he’s doing. Show him that you do care about him and patiently listen to what he says. He truly deserves that kind of treatment, doesn’t he?

Talk About His Childhood and Teenage

One of the best gifts that you can give your father is asking him about his life before you were born. You’d be surprised at how fathers tend to open up and tell so many mischievous things that they did when they were kids and teens. Who knows, maybe you might find a common point and laugh about it?

Make sure that this trip down memory lane will make him feel happy all day. Nothing better than the nostalgia of happy moments to feel good, right?

Make Him Laugh

If not great jokes, crack the simplest of jokes that you can and make your dad laugh. Being the reason behind his laughter will make you feel so good, trust me. Remind him that no matter how old he has grown, one is never too old to have a hearty laugh.

Tell Him That Everything’s Going to Be Okay

More often than not, our dads are always worried about us. Be it a career or life in general, they want to give the best to us. Seeing us fail in what we love to do is as much as a setback to them as it is to us. They are bad at expressing it, most of the times! So this Father’s Day, sit with him and have a talk. Tell him that everything is eventually going to fall in place and you will do good in life just like everyone else. Reassuring a parent is the best gift you can give them on their day.

Assure Him That You Are Always Going To Be There

As we grow up and drift apart from our parents, they have a constant fear of losing out of us. Sit down with your dad and tell him clearly that you’re going to be there for him no matter what. No matter where life takes you, either far away or closer to him, assure him that you’re gonna be there. Make him feel safe and secure about his old age and tell him that you got his back, always.

Spend Some Quality Time With Him

Take your dad out to his favourite eatery or a restaurant and get him his favourite dish. Or else, just go along with him to the park and take a walk. Know what your dad loves to do the most and do that thing with him. Be it playing badminton, running, strolling, walking, binge-eating, or just grabbing a chilled beer. Be your dad’s best friend on this day and make him feel loved. And do this not only today, but every single day in your life.

While we all focus on the sacrifices mothers make for us, fathers’ sacrifices are often shaded. They spend all their life trying to give you the best and it is time for you to make them feel wanted and blessed – every single day. Make the most of this Father’s Day and let us know if you and your dad enjoyed this day out.

Wishing all of the amazing fathers out there and all the single mothers who have been making up for both the roles – A Very Happy Father’s Day. You are all no less than superheroes and deserve all the love in the world!
