Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama has always been in news for her wonderful work and for being one of the most admired women in the world.

Now, she is adding another feather in her already illustrious cap.

Recently, Obama announced that she is teaming up with streaming giant Netflix to debut a new children’s food show called “Waffles + Mochi” to be streamed from 16th March.

She will be the executive producer and the star of the show, which will feature two puppet friends called Waffles and Mochi who dream of becoming chefs. They “blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”

Mrs. Obama will play the role of a supermarket owner who helps the two friends on their journey.

The show is produced by the production house of the Obamas: Higher Ground Productions. Erika Thormahlen & Jeremy Konner will serve as showrunners and also executive produce alongside Tonia Davis, Priya Swaminathan, Michelle Obama and her husband Barack Obama.

The theme of the show is very much in line with Obama’s initiatives as FLOTUS, where she worked on ‘Let’s Move’ campaign to support children’s health and curb childhood obesity.

“In many ways, this show is an extension of my work to support children’s health as first lady — and to be quite honest, I wish a program like this had been around when my girls were young,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

During her tenure as FLOTUS, she led multiple initiatives to help families get access to healthy and affordable food items. She also emphasized on the need for youngsters to exercise and be physically active.

While the show will certainly cater to youngsters, Obama believes that parents will also enjoy the show.

We can’t wait for the show to begin. How about you? Are you excited about this show? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
