Robots certainly make life easier and more effective. And we know how they are taking over the world. But, we think they might not spell great news for photographers. Why? Read on.

A couple in the United Kingdom recently hired an AI-based robot, Eva, to click pictures on their wedding day. Gray and Megan Barker hired Eva to shoot their wedding on 7th April at the Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire.

Eva has been designed by the UK-based firm Service Robots. So, she has been programmed to walk around the floor and using facial-recognition, she identifies people and asks them whether they would like to be clicked. She has a fantastic interactive colour screen attached to the front of her body. People can choose from a range of photography options.

But that’s not the end.

Service Robots also organizes a photo printing station at the venue through which the guests can get printouts of the pictures. Else, they can also upload the images on social media websites right then and there!

Eva was launched earlier in the year; however, this was the first time that she shot her first wedding.

We can totally imagine that the guests were awe-struck by this absolutely new photographer. But we are not sure whether the couple would have loved someone else to be the centre of attraction at their wedding.

What do you think about this? Would you like to invite Eva over for your wedding? Do you think robots will replace traditional photographers in the near future? Pour in your thoughts; we’d love to hear them.
