Being homeless brings you disrepute in the society. The elitists will abominate you, call you a drug addict and a thief. But wait! What if we told you that being homeless can be a boon too?
Well, there are people who defy the notion that homelessness equates to poverty or drug addiction. This video focuses on a bunch of people in Hawaii who are homeless but have built an entire village. True, they have no roof above their head but they pride on having a high-minded setup. In this village, you can’t make noise after 8:00 pm, you can’t steal, and you can’t do drugs. What’s more, you will be thrown out if you violate any of these rules because they have a zero-tolerance policy.
Needless to say, this homeless village has been a magnet to tourists because it is safe. The villagers have provided all the basic necessities to the tourists and locals alike. Those include a park for kids to play at, gym for working out, a small zoo, a plantation farm, and a small made-up beach.
There is, however, no restrictions in merrymaking and people celebrate festivals together. Every Sunday, people volunteer for eight straight hours to clean-up the place. You will be surprised to know that even if they are houseless, 60% of them have jobs to earn a livelihood.
Now, they didn’t become homeless on purpose; they didn’t have the financial means to buy a home. But, being homeless didn’t cripple their enthusiasm to live happily. They rather appreciate and are grateful for what they have. This Hawaiian village is the epitome of happiness and hence receives donations from all around the state. Shortly, they will purchase their own land and live in their own homes! Let’s wish and pray that this happens as soon as possible!
