The Muncie Police Department of Indiana and the Muncie Animal Care and Services are together on an initiative wherein people can pay off their parking tickets by donating cat food.

In a Facebook post, the local police department announced a partnership to help out the animal shelter in Indiana, which is currently home to over 350 kittens that are in need of food and medical supplies.

Undoubtedly, pets are the best thing to happen to humankind. While there are some people who abandon their pets because of several reasons, many others also come forward to help those wonderful creatures by supplying them with food supplies. Muncie Animal Care & Services is one such company that helps abandoned cats and dogs find new homes.

“The pets here are in dire need of food, shelter and medical supplies. It’s hard to see such beautiful creatures being abandoned for no reason at all. This is the need of the hour,” said Jamie Brown of the Muncie Police Department.

Both the services shared this initiative on their respective social media handles, also giving out a list of items that people can offer in exchange for paying off their tickets. People that are unable to drop the things at the shelter can even arrange a pickup. Items such as cat food, beds, blankets and medical supplies are included in the list.

People on social media are appreciating this initiative and wishing to make it a universal practice.

A similar program was started by Las Vegas Police Department too, wherein people were asked to pay off their parking tickets with stationery and school supplies like pens, erasers, paper towels and wipes.

Isn’t this a fantastic collaboration? What do you think?
