Kids certainly feel like they are trapped in an inferno while staying at a hospital. It’s an emotionally draining experience for them to go through treatments and depressing medication. Raymond Mohler Jr. relates to their feeling because he too had spent some gloomy days in a hospital as a kid. Raymond was rushed to the hospital when he was all of eight. He had pain in both of his hips and could not walk. Being diagnosed with Legg Perthes, he was advised not to run or jump, except for when he was swimming. Worse, he had to wear brace on his legs even while sleeping. But the good news was that he was soon discharged from the hospital.

He counted himself lucky when he compared himself with the other kids who had to spend months or years on end in the hospital. To lift their spirit, he had distributed his Christmas goodies to them as his mom suggested. This act gave him a sense of satisfaction, joy, and immense happiness.

Pursuing his efforts upon growing up, he initiated the Little Saint Nick Foundation, which works indefatigably to inspire kids in local communities to help other kids in need. They volunteer kids pack gift bags for the children in the hospital and distribute copious amounts of toys in the hospital as an act of benevolence. Obviously, this is a mental healing drive for those in pain. Furthermore, those kids in action are given a certificate of achievement too, an act that motivates them to do more good. At a young age, they are taught the art of being in service to others.

Over the past decade, the Little Saint Nick foundation has touched the lives of at least 100 thousand children. Don’t you think this is a wonderful achievement?
