Ater China, the European nation of Italy is one of the worst hit due to the novel coronavirus, with close to 25,000 affected and more than 1,000 deaths.

The government has put the nation under a dramatic lockdown to protect its citizens and, more importantly, the vulnerable individuals.

Not those known to crumble under pressure, Italians have found a novel way to boost their morale and spread optimism in otherwise a bleak scenario. They are singing and cooking elaborate meals!

Right from Turin in the north to Naples and Salerno in the south, residents of apartment buildings are taking to balcony singing.

Numerous videos have been shared on social media showing people singing songs to bring more solidarity, love, and hope in grim times.

Famous Italian singer Andrea Sannino has compiled a video of people singing his famous song Abbracciame (Embrace Me) at their windows in Naples, his hometown.

❤️ #iorestoacasa #abbracciame

Here is another video from Sicily showing many singing cheerfully on their balconies.

Many patriotic folk songs are also being sung in Siena in Italy’s Tuscany region.

And while Italy’s economy is severely being impacted by the lockdown, we believe that Italians, with their spirit and resilience, will certainly be able to build it back soon.

Isn’t this just a wonderful way of building hope? Do you agree? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
