World’s Tallest Indoor Waterfall Opens at Singapore Airport

Singapore unveiled the world’s tallest indoor waterfall recently. It is located in the extension of Singapore’s Changi Airport called Jewel Changi Airport.

The waterfall, called Rain Vortex, spans a total of seven floors and is a massive 130 feet high. The water is collected and pumped through the roof and falls 40 metres below into an underground tank. Subsequently, the water is pumped up again. Would you believe that around 500, 000 litres of water is pumped through the waterfall!

At nights, there is a magnificent display of lights, making the fall even more appealing.

The airport extension has opened only in April 2019 but is already a hit amongst the locals, who flock to the falls to take selfies with this behemoth structure.

The Jewel is, essentially, a shopping and entertainment hub. Apart from the waterfall, it also houses a sprawling indoor forest, around 300 retail shops and restaurants.
