Liverpool can now rightfully call itself the best club in England.

After a wait of three decades, Liverpool has won the Premier League this season!

Liverpool was only six points away from winning the title when the coronavirus pandemic brought the season to a halt. However, with the league resuming play, Liverpool is back on the top.

On 24th June 2020, Liverpool defeated Crystal Palace by an impressive scoreline of 4-0. Subsequently, Manchester City needed to beat Chelsea to ensure that Liverpool was farther away from its goal. But, on 25th June, City was beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in London, and Liverpool wore the crown of the champions.

This is Liverpool’s 19th top-flight title and their first since 1989-90.

However, in this season, Liverpool has been an absolute dominant team, destroying every other team that came in the way of their title. In fact, at one stage, they led the table by 25 points – a record gap between the first and second place in English top-flight history.

Manager Jurgen Klopp, who is now regarded as one of the finest managers in the club’s history, was clearly over the moon with this victory. The German joined the club in October 2015 and has, since, transformed the team into a winning one.

“I have no words. It’s unbelievable. Much more than I ever thought would be possible,” he said. “Becoming champions with this club is absolutely incredible. It is an incredible achievement of my players … and a pure joy for me to coach them,” he said.

While the celebrations for the team were subdued due to the pandemic, fans did gather outside the club’s home ground in Anfield, celebrating this stupendous achievement.

A big congratulations to the newly crowned Champions!
