England centre-back Harry Maguire has become the most expensive defender recently when Manchester United signed him for a record 80 million pounds from Leicester City.
Maguire has signed a six-year contract with Manchester United, with an option for an extension of a period of 12 months.
Maguire tweeted about this move with a message saying “Looking forward to the next chapter of my career”

This fee far surpasses the 75 million pounds fee that Liverpool paid to Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in 2018.
The 26-year-old footballer, who had joined Leicester City in 2017 for an initial fee of 12 million pounds, made his debut for England in 2017.
