Today is ten years since we lost the King of Pop – Micheal Jackson. One of the greatest entertainers of all time, Micheal Jackson was also a global icon! He connected with the audience through his music in ways that no other performer has.

Today, on his tenth death anniversary, we bring four of the greatest songs of this legend.

  1. Bad

Composed and written by Micheal Jackson himself, this song was released on 7th September 1987. It was from his album of the same name. Jackson said that this song was inspired by a real-life story about a man who attended a private school to escape poverty. However, he was killed once he returned home.

The song was a massive hit in the United States and across the world. The video is very famous, in which Jackson dances in a subway, depicting a gang war between two groups.

2. Billie Jean
One of the most popular songs of Micheal Jackson ever, Billie Jean was released on 2 January 1983 and was a part of Jackson’s album Thriller. The song was at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a massive seven weeks, making the album Thriller one of the best-selling albums of all time.

3. Thriller

Released on 23 January 1984, Thriller is one of the most iconic songs of all time. Written by Rod Temperton, the song was a massive hit across the world. Its video was also extremely popular, in which Jackson becomes a zombie and performs dance routines with the undead. Jackson’s iconic red jacket and the dance routines have had a lasting impact on pop music.

4. Smooth Criminal

Released in 1988, Smooth Criminal is one of the most popular songs of this legend and was from his album Bad. The video of this song was where Jackson first performed his anti-gravity lean, which became one of his signature moves.
