Actor Natalie Portman will play the role of female Thor in Marvel’s fourth movie in the series! The movie titled Thor: Love and Thunder will see her reprise the character of Dr Jane Foster, who would take on the superpowers of Thor.

The announcement was made at Comic-Con International held at San Diego recently, where a host of other Marvel movies were also announced. And as expected, it has created a lot of buzz and excitement among fans.

Portman shared the news on Instagram, saying that she was “thrilled to share the news.”

Director Taika Waititi of Thor: Ragnarok will return to direct the movie, along with actors Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. The movie is set to hit the theatres on November 2021.

Waititi mentioned on social media that Portman’s character will be called Mighty Thor.

One of the central characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor is also famously called the ‘God of Thunder.’ Three movies in this movie franchise have already hit the screens: Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017). While the first two movies were not well received, the third – Thor: Ragnarok – was considered the best of the Thor trilogy.

Isn’t it exciting to have a female Thor? We can’t wait for the movie to be released.
