Reality TV star and fashion mogul Kim Kardashian is set to add another feather in her cap. She wants to become a lawyer! Kardashian revealed her intention to study law and become a criminal justice lawyer during a recent interview.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, she said she was studying law and had started a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in 2018. She intends to take the bar exam in 2022 and hopefully become a lawyer.

The decision to join law came after her active campaigning for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year-old woman who’d been in an Alabama prison on a nonviolent drug charge since 1996. Kardashian also met with US President Donald Trump last year in this regard, who then invited her to his State of the Union Address in February.

It was her experiences at the White House which inspired her to become a lawyer. To further her ambition of becoming a lawyer, Kardashian has been working closely with CNN commentator and activist Van Jones and attorney Jessica Jackson. Jones and Jackson run an advocacy group called #cut50 where Kardashian has been actively involved during the past months, visiting prisons, petitioning governors and attending meetings at White House.

As expected, her announcement to become a lawyer has elicited mixed reactions from different quarters. While some are supporting her in her bid, there are others who are leaving no chance to mock her decision.

Now it is left to be seen whether Kim Kardashian can shed her glamorous TV star persona and become a lawyer. What do you think of her new avatar? Do let us know in the comments below.
