At 85, the beautiful Oscar winning award actress Judi Dench has set a new record.
She has become the oldest person to ever feature on the cover of the British Vogue magazine!
Appearing on the June 2020 cover of the British Vogue and photographed by Nick Knight in early February, Dench looks as graceful as ever in a floral Dolce & Gabbana.
The actress, who has performed in many Shakespearean plays, has been renowned for her roles in “Shakespeare In Love” and the James Bond movie “Skyfall.”
In the interview, she discusses retirement and aging and she has an interesting way of describing her feelings towards the latter: “I don’t like it at all,” she says.
“[The shoot] meant an awful lot to her,” says Dench’s daughter, Finty Williams. “This age thing, I think, affects very much how she feels about herself and this gave her just that little boost of confidence to make her go, ‘Oh, maybe I’m still OK.’ Then of course after the photoshoot, she came back literally thinking she was Beyoncé.”
“Ever modest, the dame is not a fan of the term national treasure. But treasure her we do. Now more than ever,” says British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful of Dench.
And we can’t agree more!
