BTS song ‘Dynamite’ breaks record for most YouTube views in 24 hours

The Korean boy band BTS created history after its new single ‘Dynamite’ became the most watched video within 24 hours of its debut on YouTube.

The video of this song was watched an astounding 101.1 million times in 24 hours after it was released on 21st August, becoming the first video ever to achieve 100 million views in a single day. Also, more than a whopping three million viewers tuned in to watch the premier of the video!

The song, which is close to 4-minutes long, is also the first time that the band has sung exclusively in English. It has been written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar.

The video surpassed the previous record set by another K-pop band Blackpink, whose single ‘How You Like It’ was watched 86.3 million times in June.

The seven member band BTS is comprised of Kim Tae-hyung (better known as V), Jung Ho-seok (J-Hope), Kim Nam-joon (RM), Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Park Ji-min, Jeon Jung-kook, and Min Yoon-gi (Suga) and is one of the most popular ones in the world.

Earlier, the band said that by means of the song, they wanted to reach out to their fans in these tough times. “Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans,” the band said.

The entire album is due to release later this year.
