BLACKPINK Sets YouTube Record, Becomes Fastest to Reach 100 Million Views

South Korean pop band BLACKPINK has set a new YouTube record!

Their video ‘Kill This Love’ became the fastest ever to reach 100 million views on YouTube. It took the video a mere two days and 14 hours to reach this landmark. With this feat, the girl band broke the record previously held by another South Korean pop star, Psy.

But that’s not the end of the records that the video has set.

By earning 56.7 million views within the first 24 hours of its release, the video also earned the title of being earning the highest first-day YouTube views. It beat Thank U, Next by Arianna Grande to achieve this milestone.

Formed in 2016, BLACKPINK is a group formed by YG Entertainment. Its members include Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. The band’s earlier single – Ddu-Du Ddu-Du – also holds the distinction of being the most-viewed music video by a K-pop group on YouTube.
