25th Screen Actors Guild Awards Presented

25th Screen Actors Guild Awards presented

The Screen Actors Guild Awards, also known as SAG Awards, for 2018 were presented at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. American actress and singer Megan Mullally was the host of the ceremony.

The American superhero movie Black Panther won two major awards including the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Rami Malek and Glenn Close repeated their wins at the Golden Globes earlier in the year to win the outstanding performance by a male actor and a female actor in a leading role respectively. Malek won the coveted award for the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ whereas Close won it for the film ‘The Wife’.

The SAG awards are given away by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and have been considered one of the most renowned awards in Hollywood. They recognize the best performances in films and prime time television. These awards also serve as a run-up to the Oscars, arguably, the most prestigious awards for excellence in films.
