Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren announced that she would run for the President in 2020, becoming the first major Democrat to do so. She also made known that she is forming an exploratory committee for 2020, an event that permits her to raise money for the campaign.
In a video posted on Twitter on New Year’s Eve, she made her plans public.
Every person in America should be able to work hard, play by the same set of rules, & take care of themselves & the people they love. That’s what I’m fighting for, & that’s why I’m launching an exploratory committee for president. I need you with me: https://t.co/BNl2I1m8OX pic.twitter.com/uXXtp94EvY

She has been a vocal critic of the current President Donald Trump and has had a long-standing history of unpleasant encounters with him.
Warren had campaigned for the 2016 election alongside Hillary Clinton.
Political experts believe that Warren is entering what will be a very crowded space, where many Democrats will be looking to take on Trump. Fellow senators such as Bernie Sanders, Corry Booker, and Kamala Harris are also expected to join the fray soon.
